I am a wife, mother and ex professional who hit 40 in 2012. I’m slightly scared by the feeling of being close to the top of the hill and then starting to look down it. I don’t like the idea of missing out on life, so I’m testing out my writing, and my tendency always to be wondering what’s next, by blogging about my feelings on mid life and other things.
I have a very British, dry, sense of humour and that’s what generally keeps me going. A few other things: I am no earth mother but I do my best; parenting and my children continue to surprise and amuse me. I try to stay off writing about parenting but occasionally my children slip in there, especially when they’ve made me laugh.
I love (not necessarily in this order): writing, food, films, books, running, clothes and the outdoors. I miss London where I have lived on and off for sixteen years. It has taken me four years to get used to living in an Oxfordshire village (driving everywhere and a distinct lack of retail opportunities), where I’m now settled with my two boys, one long suffering girl-in-the-middle and my workaholic cardiologist husband.
